The Safety and Health at Work Act, passed in May 2005, requires workplaces to have health and safety committees and employee health and safety delegates. This course explains the legal requirements, the roles and responsibilities of committees and delegates, and provides instruction to effectively carry out their important functions.
This is a Barbados-specific version of the REA Health and Safety Committee Certification Course, an Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board approved course that has been taken by nearly 10,000 workers and managers in Canada since 1996 and in Barbados by over 300 workers and managers since 2006.
Intended Audience: Current and future members of Safety Committees, Safety Delegates, and Union Representatives.
